We are pleased to welcome Rick Brooks as an Independent Director on the Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Board.
Rick’s expertise in Commerce, Human Resource Management, and Information Systems, along with his credentials from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, will strengthen our Board’s capacity. His appointment, alongside Associate Professor Tuguy Esgin—the first Noongar Independent Director—follows an open, merit-based selection process for Independent Directors conducted by the Board. Rick was chosen from a competitive field of quality candidates.
Independent Directors enhance our Board by providing specialist knowledge under the Derbarl Rule Book. Chairperson Joslyn Eades-Tass said, “Rick has attended several meetings of the Board and is already having a positive impact. We look forward to Rick’s continued input as we work together to promote good governance, to ensure culturally safe, high-quality healthcare for Aboriginal people in our community.”
