The Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Board is proud to announce the appointment of James Christian PSM MPA as our new Chief Executive Officer.

James’ appointment was confirmed by the DYHS Board of Directors following a competitive, open, transparent, merit-based selection process conducted by independent Perth-based Executive Search firm, Lester Blades.
A proud Wiradjuri man, James has more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in the Aboriginal community-controlled sector and Government, underpinned by his early career as a nurse and community nurse, which shaped his lifelong commitment to culturally safe healthcare.
He played a pivotal role in negotiating the new National Agreement on Closing the Gap and was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2011 for creating economic development opportunities and securing constitutional recognition for Aboriginal people in NSW.
James has also successfully led delegations to the United Nations on Indigenous rights and disability rights.
Board Chair Joslyn Eades-Tass commented:
“James brings a wealth of experience, cultural insight, and a deep commitment to our community. We are confident that under his leadership, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service will continue to grow and strengthen its impact.”
Please join us in congratulating James on his appointment.
