Kaya Wanju,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Ms Joslyn Eades-Tass as the new Chief Executive Officer of Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (DYHS). Joslyn will commence with DYHS on Monday, 6 July 2026.
This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Derbarl as we continue our journey of delivering exceptional, culturally safe healthcare and strengthening the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and families across our communities.
Joslyn is a culturally present and proud Noongar woman, mother of two, and a highly respected descendant of the Noongar Nation. She brings with her a wealth of lived experience, cultural knowledge and leadership expertise, together with a longstanding commitment to advocating for the rights, self-determination and positive outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through strategic policy, regulatory and legislative reform.
Throughout her career, Joslyn has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Community and to creating meaningful and lasting change. Her leadership is grounded in the values of trust, integrity, honesty, courage and confidence—values passed down through generations of her ancestors and mentors and reflected in her deep pride in and connection to her Noongar heritage.
The Board is confident that Joslyn’s leadership, cultural strength and vision for Aboriginal health will continue to build on Derbarl’s proud legacy while guiding us into an exciting future of growth, innovation and Community-led excellence.
As we welcome Joslyn to the role, we also take this opportunity to sincerely thank Ms Lesley Nelson for her outstanding leadership as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Lesley has led DYHS with professionalism, dedication and compassion during an important period of transition for our organisation. Her calm and steady leadership has ensured continuity of services, supported our staff and Community, and helped position Derbarl strongly for the future.
Lesley will complete her contract with DYHS on 9 July 2026. On behalf of the Board, I extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Lesley for her significant contribution to Derbarl and wish her every success and happiness in her future endeavours.
Please join the Board in warmly welcoming Joslyn to the Derbarl family and in thanking Lesley for her valued service and leadership.
Together, we remain committed to our vision of healthy, strong and thriving Aboriginal people and communities.
One Derbarl. One Community. One Future.
